شَمَسَ ضَحَا
By the sun and its appearance (sunlit, visible).

And By the moon when it follows (rises).

نهر جَلَّ
And By the morning, when it becomes great (significant, illuminating the day).
اور دن کی قسم جبکہ وہ (سورج کو) نمایاں کر دیتا ہے
91:4

لَيْل غَشَا
And By the night, when darkness spreads its cover.

سَمِي بَنَى
And By the sky (the cosmos) and Him Who constructed (and designed) it.
اور آسمان کی اور اُس ذات کی قسم جس نے اُسے قائم کیا
91:6
وَالْأَرْضِ And the earth اور زمین کی Waalardi أ ر ض أَ رَضْ Land, Area, Region , Earth , Country https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(21).jpg وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا and by (He) Who اور(اس کی)جس نے wama NA وَمَا طَحَاهَا spread it بچھادیااسے(رہائشی اعتبار سے) tahaha ط ح و NF طَحَاهَا ٦
أَ رَضْ NF
And By the earth and Him Who spread it.
اور زمین کی اور اُس ذات کی قسم جس نے اُسے بچھایا
91:7
وَنَفْسٍ And (the) soul اور(انسانی)نفس کی Wanafsin ن ف س نفُس Valuable , Sparring , Human being , Person , Individual , Soul , Inclination, Spirit , Breath , Compete , Fight , Struggle , https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(689)-.jpg وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا and (He) Who اور(اس کی)جس نے wama NA وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا proportioned it درست کر دیا اس(کے اعضاء) کو sawwaha س و ي سَوِيَ Equal , Correct , Equator , Mount , Sit on https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(344).jpg سَوَّىٰهَا ٧
نفُس سَوِيَ
And by the soul and Him who proportioned it.
اور نفس انسانی کی اور اُس ذات کی قسم جس نے اُسے ہموار کیا
91:8
فَأَلْهَمَهَا And He inspired it پھر تمیزکرناالقاکیا اس پر Faalhamaha ل ه م هَمَّ Grieve , Distress , Worry , Trouble , Intend , Plan , Begin , Rise , Get up , Old , Serious , Important https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(725)-.jpg فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا (to distinguish) its wickedness اس کی بدکرداری fujooraha ف ج ر فجر Cleave , Dig up , Sin , Adultery , Dawn , Daybreak , To let water flow , Explode , To overflow , https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(502)-.jpg فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا and its righteousness اوراس کاتقویٰ wataqwaha و ق ي قَوِيَ Strong , Vigorous , Superior , Strength , Power , Force , Empty , Deserted. https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(565).jpg وَتَقْوَاهَا ٨
هَمَّ فجر قَوِيَ
He then inspired (power of decision with the knowledge to decide) whether he will indulge in sin or become devoted and pious (God-fearing).
پھر اُس کی بدی اور اُس کی پرہیز گاری اس پر الہام کر دی
91:9
قَدْ Indeed حقیقت میں Qad NA قَدْ أَفْلَحَ he succeeds فلاح پا گیا ۔کامیاب ہوگیا aflaha ف ل ح فًلَحَ Cultivate , Prosperity , Welfare , Success , Salvation , Agricultural , Farmer , Lucky , Successful https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(519).jpg أَفْلَحَ مَن who جس نے man NA مَن زَكَّاهَا purifies it پاک کرلیا اس(کے نفس) کو zakkaha ز ك و زَكَا Grow , Righteous , Pure https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(301).jpg زَكَّاهَا ٩
فًلَحَ زَكَا
Indeed, the one who purifies is successful.
یقیناً فلاح پا گیا وہ جس نے نفس کا تزکیہ کیا
91:10
وَقَدْ And indeed اور حقیقت میں Waqad NA وَقَدْ خَابَ he fails ناکام رہ گیا khaba خ ي ب خَابَ Fail , Unsuccessful , frustrate https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(215).jpg خَابَ مَن who جس نے man NA مَن دَسَّاهَا buries it گناہ آلود کیا اس(کےنفس) کو dassaha د س و دسّ Insert , Penetrate, Plot, Scheme, Bury https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(225).jpg دَسَّاهَا ١٠
خَابَ دسّ
Indeed, he failed who buried it (plotted schemes to corrupt).
اور نامراد ہوا وہ جس نے اُس کو دبا دیا
91:11
كَذَّبَتْ Denied جھٹلایا تھا(رسول کو) Kaththabat ك ذ ب كَذَبَ Lie , Deceive , Mislead , Falsehood , Disprove , Deny https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(574)-.jpg كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ Thamud ثمود نے thamoodu NA ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَآ by their transgression بسبب اس کی سرکشی کے bitaghwaha ط غ ي طَغَا Exceed Proper Bounds, Rage , Flood , Tyrannical , Prevail , Violent https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(408).jpg بِطَغْوَاهَآ ١١
كَذَبَ طَغَا
Samoud denied it by exceeding proper boundaries (became unjust, cruel, oppressor, and evil).
ثمود نے اپنی سرکشی کی بنا پر جھٹلایا
91:12
إِذِ When جب Ithi NA إِذِ انۢبَعَثَ (was) sent forth کھڑا ہوا inbaAAatha ب ع ث بعث Dispatch , Delegate , Rebirth, Arouse, Incite, https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(72).jpg انۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَاهَا (the) most wicked of them بڑا بدبخت اس(قوم) کا ashqaha ش ق و شَفَى Cure , Heal , Health , Hospital https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(363).jpg أَشْقَاهَا ١٢
بعث شَفَى
When sent out a criminal.
جب اُس قوم کا سب سے زیادہ شقی آدمی بپھر کر اٹھا
91:13

قَالَ رَسِلَ إِله نَاقَة إِله سَقَى
The messenger of Allah told them, “This is the she-camel of Allah, so it is her drink.”
تو اللہ کے رسول نے اُن لوگوں سے کہا کہ خبردار، اللہ کی اونٹنی کو (ہاتھ نہ لگانا) اوراُس کے پانی پینے (میں مانع نہ ہونا)
91:14

كَذَبَ عَقَرَ دَمْدَمَ رَبَّ ذَنْب سواءٌ
But they denied him (messenger) and injured it (camel). So, their Rabb crushed them because of their sins and leveled them (to the ground).
مگر انہوں نے اُس کی بات کو جھوٹا قرار دیا اور اونٹنی کو مار ڈالا آخرکار اُن کے گناہ کی پاداش میں ان کے رب نے ان پر ایسی آفت توڑی کہ ایک ساتھ سب کو پیوند خاک کر دیا
91:15
وَلَا And not اور نہیں Wala NA وَلَا يَخَافُ He fears وہ خائف yakhafu خ و ف خَافَ Fear , Scared , Timid https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(214)-.jpg يَخَافُ عُقْبَاهَا its consequences اس(قوم)کی عاقبت کے انجام سے AAuqbaha ع ق ب عَقَبَ Follow , Pursue , Investigate , Succeed , Search , Turn Back , Upside down https://rootwordsofquran.com//Images/Book%20.JPG%20(451)-.jpg عُقْبَاهَا ١٥
خَافَ عَقَبَ
And He does not fear the aftereffect (consequence).
اور اسے (اپنے ا س فعل کے) کسی برے نتیجے کا کوئی خوف نہیں ہے
