76:1


هَلْ Has?

Did it come upon man (to realize that) when he was not a thing to be mentioned in the epoch of time?

76:2


إِنَّا Indeed We

Inna

خَلَقْنَا [We] created

بَصِيرًا and sight

٢

خَلَقَ أَنِسَ نَطَفَ مَشَى بلو جعل سَمَعَ بصُر


Indeed, We created the man from sperm mixture for Us to test him, and We made ears and eyes for him (to see and hear Allah's favors and thank Allah. The ears and eyes are used to understand the wisdom in creation, get guidance, consume what Allah has provided for sustenance, protect himself from dangers, communicate with others, etc.).

76:3


إِنَّا Indeed We

هَدَيْنَاهُ guided him

هَدَى سَبَلَ شَكَرَ كَفَرَ


Indeed, We guided him to the path, whether he became thankful or unthankful.

76:4


إِنَّآ Indeed We

Inna

أَعْتَدْنَا [We] have prepared

وَأَغْلَالًا and shackles

عَتُدَ كَفَرَ سَلْسَلَ غَلَّ سَعَرَ


Indeed, We have prepared for the ungrateful chains, collars, and flames.

76:5


إِنَّ Indeed

الْأَبْرَارَ the righteous

Indeed, (but) the righteous will be drinking from the delicate glasses; it will be like a mixture blend of camphor.

عَيْنًا A spring

عين شَرِبَ عَبَدَ إِله فجر فجر


Worshippers of Allah will be drinking from springs, flowing abundantly.

76:7


يُوفُونَ They fulfill

وَفَى نَذَرَ خَفَيَ يوْم كَانَ شَرَّ سَطَرَ


They were fulfilling the solemn pledges and fearing the Day of harm that is written.

76:8


وَيُطْعِمُونَ And they feed

مِسْكِينًا (to the) needy

طَعِمَ طَعِمَ حَبَّ مسكن يتم أسر


And they used to feed due to their love of Him, the poor, orphans, and prisoners.

76:9


إِنَّمَا Only

Innama

نُطْعِمُكُمْ we feed you

طَعِمَ وَجَهَ إِله رَادَ جَزَى شَكَرَ


“Indeed, We only feed you for aiming (acceptance, pleasure) for Allah. We do not desire from you any reward or thanks.

76:10


إِنَّا Indeed we

Indeed, we fear our Rabb for a Day of its gravity and stress.

76:11


فَوَقَاهُمُ But will protect them

وَسُرُورًا and happiness

وقى إِلَٰه شَرَّ يوْم لقِي نَضَرَ سَرَّ


So, Allah has protected them from the harm of that Day, and they will receive radiance and happiness.

76:12


وَجَزَاهُم And will reward them

صَبَرُوا they were patient

جَنَّةً (with) a Garden

وَحَرِيرًا and silk

جَزَى صَبَرَ جنّ حَرَّ


And they will be rewarded with Gardens and silk because they were patient.

76:13


مُتَّكِئِينَ Reclining

وَكَأَ رَأَى رَأَى شَمَسَ زَمْهَرَ


They will sit there on the sofas and not see hot sunshine (heated sunlight) or bitter cold.

76:14


وَدَانِيَةً And near

Wadaniyatan

عَلَيْهِمْ above them

ظِلَالُهَا (are) its shades

وَذُلِّلَتْ and will hang low

قُطُوفُهَا its cluster of fruits

دَنَا ظَلَّ ذَلَّ قَطَفَ ذَلَّ


And their shades lowered on them, and the clusters of fruits brought down to them lowered.

76:15


وَيُطَافُ And will be circulated

طَافَ أنى فَضَّ كُوب كَانَ قَارَ


The silver vessels circulated on them, and the pitchers were like rounded hollowed (crystals).

76:16


قَوَارِيرَا Crystal-clear

They hollowed out (Crystal) of silver decreed amount (designed with measurements).

76:17


وَيُسْقَوْنَ And they will be given to drink

سَقَى كَأْس كَانَ مَزَجَ


They will be given drinks in them; fine, it is a mixed blend of Zenjabeela.

76:18


عَيْنًا A spring

عين سَمِي


Spring therein named Salsabila.

76:19


وَيَطُوفُ And will circulate

وِلْدَانٌ young boys

مُّخَلَّدُونَ made eternal

إِذَا When

رَأَيْتَهُمْ you see them

حَسِبْتَهُمْ you would think them

لُؤْلُؤًا (to be) pearls

مَّنثُورًا scattered

١٩

طَافَ وَلَدَ خَلَدَ رَأَى حَسَبَ لَأْلَا نثر


And boys will be making rounds (to serve) among them; they will be made to live forever. If you see them, you will consider them like pearls spread out.

76:20


وَإِذَا And when

رَأَى ثَمَّ رَأَى نَعَمَ ملك كَبَرَ


And wherever you look, you will see the blessed and the Great Kingdom.

76:21


عَالِيَهُمْ Upon them

ثِيَابُ (will be) garments

وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ and heavy brocade

وَحُلُّوٓا And they will be adorned

وَسَقَاهُمْ and will give them to drink

عَلَا ثَابَ خَضَرَ حَلُوَ سُوَار فَضَّ سَقَى رَبَّ شَرِبَ طَهُرَ


Their clothes will be high in silk green and brocade. And they will be wearing necklaces and ornaments of silver. And their Rabb will provide drinks that are pure and clean.

76:22


إِنَّ Indeed

Inna

هَٰذَا this

سَعْيُكُم your effort

كَانَ جَزَى كَانَ سعى شَكَرَ


“Indeed, that is your appreciative reward for your endeavors.”

إِنَّا Indeed We

نَزَلَ قَرَأَ نَزَلَ


Indeed, We have sent you the Quran progressively.

76:24


فَاصْبِرْ So be patient

صَبَرَ حَكَمَ رَبَّ طَاعَ أثِم كَفَرَ


So, be patient with your Rabb's decisions (instructions), and do not follow the sinful or ungrateful among them.

وَاذْكُرِ And remember

And remember the name of your Rabb in the mornings and before sunset.

وَمِنَ And of

And at night, prostrate to Him and praise Him on long nights.

إِنَّ Indeed

هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ these

يُحِبُّونَ love

الْعَاجِلَةَ the immediate

وَيَذَرُونَ and leave

وَرَآءَهُمْ behind them

يَوْمًا a Day

ثَقِيلًا grave

thaqeelan

٢٧

حَبَّ عَجِلَ وَزَرَ رَأَى يوْم ثقل


Indeed, those who love the immediate life of this world and they leave out what is behind them (for a) Heavy Day.

76:28


نَّحْنُ We

Nahnu

خَلَقْنَاهُمْ created them

وَشَدَدْنَآ and We strengthened

أَمْثَالَهُمْ their likeness[es]

تَبْدِيلًا (with) a change

٢٨

خَلَقَ شَدَّ أسر شَأَن بَدَلَ مَثَلَ بَدَلَ


We created them and strengthened their families; whenever We Desire, We can replace them with others like them.

76:29


إِنَّ Indeed

هَٰذِهِۦ this

hathihi

تَذْكِرَةٌ (is) a reminder

فَمَن so whoever

اتَّخَذَ let him take

ittakhatha

إِلَىٰ to

رَبِّهِۦ his Lord

ذَكّرَ شِاءَ أَخَذَ رَبَّ سَبَلَ


Indeed, this is a remembrance, so, whosoever wills, let him take hold of the path to his Rabb.

They cannot desire unless Allah Desires. Allah has complete knowledge and wisdom.

يُدْخِلُ He admits

دَخَلَ شِاءَ فِي رَحِمَ ظَلَمَ عَدَّ عَذُبَ أَ لِمَ


He Admits into His Mercy whomever He Desires, but He has prepared a painful punishment for the ungrateful.
