66:1


يَاأَيُّهَا O

Yaayyuha

النَّبِىُّ Prophet!

وَٱللّٰهُ And Allah

غَفُورٌ (is) Oft-Forgiving

رَّحِيمٌ Most Merciful

١

نبأ حَرُمَ حَلَّ إِلَٰه بغى مَرِضَ زَاجَ إِلَٰه غفر رَحِمَ


O, you the prophet! Why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful for you? You seek the approval of your wives. And Allah is the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

66:2


قَدْ Indeed

Qad

فَرَضَ has ordained

تَحِلَّةَ (the) dissolution

أَيْمَانِكُمْ (of) your oaths

وَٱللّٰهُ And Allah

مَوْلَاكُمْ (is) your Protector

mawlakum
و ل ي
وَهُوَ and He

wahuwa

الْعَلِيمُ (is) the All-Knower

alAAaleemu
ع ل م
الْحَكِيمُ the All-Wise

٢

فَرَضَ إِلَٰه حَلَّ يَمَنَ إِلَٰه وَلِيَ علِم حَكَمَ


Allah has decreed for you to expiate (make changes in) your oaths. Allah is your Supporter. He is All-Knowing and with all The Authority

سَرَّ نبأ بَعَضَ زَاجَ حَدَثَ نَبَتَ ظهر إِلَٰه عَرَفَ بَضَعَ عَرُضَ بَعَضَ نبأ قَالَ نبأ قَالَ نبأ علِم خَبَرَ


The Prophet had a conversation with some of his wives to discuss confidential information. But when she informed someone of this, and Allah made this known to him (that she passed the secret information to others), he informed someone of this and avoided some of this. Then, when he told her about that, she said, “Who informed you about this?” He said, “The All-Knowing, All-Aware has informed me.

66:4

فَإِنَّ then indeed

مَوْلَاهُ (is) his Protector

و ل ي
وَجِبْرِيلُ and Jibreel

wajibreelu

وَصَالِحُ and (the) righteous

wasalihu
ص ل ح
الْمُؤْمِنِينَ believers

almumineena
أ م ن
وَالْمَلَآئِكَةُ and the Angels

waalmalaikatu
م ل ك
بَعْدَ after

baAAda
ب ع د
ذَٰلِكَ that

thalika

ظَهِيرٌ (are his) assistants

thaheerun
ظ ه ر
٤

تاب إِله صغا قلب ظهر إِلَٰه وَلِيَ صَلَحَ أمُن ملك بعُد ظهر


If you both repented to Allah, then (in that case, it will show that) your hearts have already paid attention (inclined to repent). But if you help each other against him, then Allah, Gabriel, and the righteous believers are his supporters. The angels after that are his helpers.

66:5


عَسَىٰ Perhaps

تَائِبَاتٍ repentant

taibatin

عَابِدَاتٍ who worship

سَائِحَاتٍ who fast

saihatin

ثَيِّبَاتٍ previously married

thayyibatin
ث ي ب
وَأَبْكَارًا and virgins

waabkaran
ب ك ر
٥

عَسَى رَبَّ طَلُقَ بَدَلَ زَاجَ خَيرَ سلِم أمُن قَنَتَ تاب عَبَدَ ساح ثيب بَكَرَ


Maybe, if he will divorce you, then, his Rabb will replace his wives with better than you: peaceful women, believing women, obedient women, repenting women, religious and observing women, women who will perform journey (with prophet, in cause of Allah), divorced or virgins.

يَاأَيُّهَا O

Yaayyuha

الَّذِينَ (you) who

اٰمَنُواْ believe!

وَأَهْلِيكُمْ and your families

نَارًا (from) a Fire

النَّاسُ (is) people

وَالْحِجَارَةُ and stones

waalhijaratu

عَلَيْهَا over it

مَلَآئِكَةٌ (are) Angels

غِلَاظٌ stern

شِدَادٌ severe

لَّا not

يَعْصُونَ they disobey

اللهَ Allah

مَآ (in) what

أَمَرَهُمْ He Commands them

وَيَفْعَلُونَ but they do

يُؤْمَرُونَ they are commanded

أَ مُنَ وقى نفُس أهَلَ نَار وقد أَنِسَ حَجَر ملك غَلُظَ شَدَّ عَصَى إِلَٰه أمر فَعَلَ أ مر


O you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families from the Fire, whose fuel will be mankind and stones. Over it are angels, severely rude. They do not disobey Allah, what is commanded, and do whatever they are instructed.

66:7


يَاأَيُّهَا O

Yaayyuha

الَّذِينَ (you) who

كَفَرُوا disbelieve!

كَفَرَ عَذَرَ يوْم جَزَى كَانَ عَمِلَ


O you who did not believe! Do not bring excuses today. You will be rewarded for what you were doing.

الَّذِينَ (you) who believe

نُورُهُمْ Their light

وَبِأَيْمَانِهِمْ and on their right

يَقُولُونَ they will say

رَبَّنَآ Our Lord

أَتْمِمْ Perfect

لَنَا for us

نُورَنَا our light

وَاغْفِرْ and grant forgiveness

إِنَّكَ Indeed You

عَلَىٰ (are) over

كُلِّ every

شَىْءٍ thing

قَدِيرٌ All-Powerful

٨

أَ مُنَ تاب إِله تاب نصح عَسَى رَبَّ كَفَرَ سَا ءَ دَخَلَ جنّ جَرَى تحْت نهر يوْم خَزَنَ إِلَٰه نبأ أَ مُنَ نَار سعى بَا نَ يدي أمُن قَالَ رَبَّ تمّ نَار غفر كُلّ شِاءَ قدر


O you, those who believe! Repent to Allah with repentance in good faith. Maybe your Rabb will cover (hide) your sins and enter you in gardens with rivers running below them on the Day when nothing can humiliate the Prophet of Allah and those who believed in him (with him). Their light will be running (shining) in front of them, and on the sides of them, they will be saying, “Our Rabb, complete for us our light (enlightenment) and forgive us; You have control (power) over everything.

66:9


يَاأَيُّهَا O

Yaayyuha

النَّبِىُّ Prophet!

جَاهِدِ Strive

الْكُفَّارَ (against) the disbelievers

وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ and the hypocrites

waalmunafiqeena

وَاغْلُظْ and be stern

waoghluth
غ ل ظ
عَلَيْهِمْ with them

AAalayhim

وَمَأْوَىٰهُمْ And their abode

wamawahum
أ و ي
جَهَنَّمُ (is) Hell

jahannamu

وَبِئْسَ and wretched is

wabisa
ب أ س
الْمَصِيرُ the destination

almaseeru
ص ي ر
٩

نبأ جَهَدَ كَفَرَ نفق غَلُظَ أوى بَأْ س- بَؤُ سَ صَارَ


O Prophet, strive against the infidels and the hypocrites and be harsh with them. Their resting place is Hell. What a miserable destination!

ضَرَبَ إِلَٰه مَثَلَ كَفَرَ مرأ مرأ كَانَ تحْت عَبَدَ عَبَدَ صَلَحَ خَانَ غنِي إِله شِاءَ قَالَ دَخَلَ نَار دَخَلَ


And Allah gives the example of those who did not believe (like) Noah's wife and Lut's wife. They both were under Our slaves, Our righteous worshipers, but they both deceived (betrayed) them. Nothing benefited them against Allah, and it was said, "Enter the Fire with those who are already entered."

ضَرَبَ إِلَٰه مَثَلَ أَ مُنَ مرأ قَالَ رَبَّ اِبْن عَنَدَ بَا تَ فِي جنّ نَجَا عَمِلَ نَجَا قَامَ ظَلَمَ


And Allah gives the example of those who believed: (like) the wife of Firon, when she said, “My Rabb, build for me, near You, a house in the Paradise, and rescue me from Firon and his deeds, and rescue me from the nation of the unjust.”

66:12


وَمَرْيَمَ And Maryam

ابْنَتَ (the) daughter

وَصَدَّقَتْ And she believed

وَكُتُبِهِۦ and His Books

وَكَانَتْ and she was

الْقَٰنِتِينَ the devoutly obedient

اِبْن حصُنَ فَرَجَ نَفَخَ فِي رَاحَ صَدَقَ كلِمُ رَبَّ كَتَبَ كَانَ قَنَتَ


And Maryam, daughter of Imran, who protected her virtue (guarded her chastity) so we blew into her Our Spirit, and she proved the truth of the Words of her Rabb, His Books, and she was from the obedient.
