الَّذِى (About) which

In that, they are disputing among themselves.

كَلَّا Nay!

Kalla

سَيَعْلَمُونَ (soon) they will know

أَلَمْ Have not?

Have We not made the earth ready as a resting place?

وَالْجِبَالَ And the mountains

جبل وَتَدَ


And the mountains firmly established?

وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ And We created you

And We created you in pairs?

وَجَعَلْنَا And We made

And We made your sleep to get rest?

وَجَعَلْنَا And We made

And We made the night a cover?

وَجَعَلْنَا And We made

And We made the day as means of sustenance?

وَبَنَيْنَا And We constructed

فَوْقَكُمْ over you

سَبْعًا seven

شِدَادًا strong

بَا نَ فَاقَ سَبْع شَدَّ


And We made (cover) over you seven strong?

وَجَعَلْنَا And We placed

سِرَاجًا a lamp

وَهَّاجًا burning

جعل سَرْج وَهَجَ


And We made the (sun) lamp with brilliant radiance?

وَأَنزَلْنَا And We sent down

الْمُعْصِرَاتِ the rain clouds

And We sent down water from the hurricanes (cyclones and tornadoes) streaming, flowing copiously?

78:15


لِّنُخْرِجَ That We may bring forth

خرج حَبَ نَبَتَ


To produce grains (seed, kernel, granules) and vegetation (plants, produce, herbs, grass, and seedlings).

وَجَنَّاتٍ And gardens

أَلْفَافًا (of) thick foliage

And gardens densely grown in layers (upon layers) of dense forests?

إِنَّ Indeed

يَوْمَ (the) Day

The Day of the (Final) Decision has been fixed for an appointed meeting time.

يَوْمَ (The) Day

يُنفَخُ (in which) shall be blown

On the Day when the Trumpet is blown, you will come in groups.

وَفُتِحَتِ And is opened

السَّمَآءُ the heaven

فتح سَمِي كَانَ بَا ب


And the sky will be opened; then it will become doors.

وَسُيِّرَتِ And are moved

سَارَ جبل كَانَ سَرِبَ


And the mountains will be running and will become a mirage.

78:21


إِنَّ Indeed

Inna

جَهَنَّمَ Hell

مِرْصَادًا lying in wait

كَانَ رَصَدَ


Indeed, Hell will be in waiting, lying in wait (ambush).

لِّلْطَّاغِينَ For the transgressors

The returning place for those who exceed boundaries.

لَابِثِينَ (They will) be remaining

Staying there for long periods of time.

لَّا Not

ذاق بَرَدَ شَرِبَ


They will not experience any coolness or have any drinks.

إِلَّا Except

Illa

Except for heat and darkness.

جَزَآءً A recompense

جَزَى وَفِقَ


An appropriate reward.

78:27


إِنَّهُمْ Indeed they

Innahum

كَانُوا were

يَرْجُونَ expecting

حِسَابًا an account

كَانَ رَجَعَ حَسَبَ


Indeed, they were not expecting an account.

وَكَذَّبُوا And they denied

بِاٰيَاتِنَا Our Signs

كَذَبَ آ ىي -آية كَذَبَ


And they denied Our verses-signs lying.

وَكُلَّ And every

أَحْصَيْنَاهُ We have enumerated it

كِتَابًا (in) a Book

كُلّ شِاءَ حصُنَ كَتَبَ


And (but) We have accounted for everything in the register (written).

فَذُوقُوا So taste

فَلَن and never

نَّزِيدَكُمْ We will increase you

إِلَّا except

عَذَابًا (in) punishment

٣٠

ذاق زَيدَ عَذُبَ


So, taste! We will only increase punishment for you.

إِنَّ Indeed

Inna

لِلْمُتَّقِينَ for the righteous

مَفَازًا (is) success

Indeed, God-fearing will be successful.

حَدَآئِقَ Gardens

Gardens and grapevines.

وَكَوَاعِبَ And splendid companions

كَعَبَ تَرِبَ


And splendid women of the same age.

وَكَأْسًا And a cup

كَأْس دَهَقَ


And nice pitchers (drinks) in abundance.

لَّا Not

La

يَسْمَعُونَ they will hear

سَمَعَ لغا كَذَبَ


They will never hear therein foolish talks or falsehood.

جَزَآءً (As) a reward

رَّبِّ Lord

السَّمَاوَاتِ (of) the heavens

يَمْلِكُونَ they have power

رَبَّ سما أَ رَضْ بَا نَ رَحِمَ ملك خَطَبَ


Rabb of the universe and the earth and whatever is between them, The Most Merciful, they will not be capable of addressing Him.

يَوْمَ (The) Day

يوْم قَامَ رَاحَ ملك صَفَّ كلِمُ أَذن رَحِمَ قَالَ صاب


On the Day when the souls and angels stand in rows. They will not speak except those permitted by the Most Merciful, and he will say what is right.

78:39


ذَٰلِكَ That

Thalika

الْيَوْمُ (is) the Day

يوْم حَقَّ شِاءَ أَخَذَ رَبَّ أ و ب


That is the Day of Truth. "So, whoever wishes may now turn towards their Rabb."

إِنَّآ Indeed We

أَنذَرْنَاكُمْ [We] have warned you

نَذَرَ عَذُبَ قرُب يوْم نَظَرَ مرأ قَدَمَ يدي قَالَ كَفَرَ كَانَ تَرِبَ


We have warned you of a punishment getting close, the Day when the man will see what he has forwarded by his hands, and the ungrateful will say, “O, I wish I were dust.”
